
The Department of Early Childhood Care and Education of our university was established in 1993, as the first junior college program in Taiwan dedicated to early childhood care and education. In line with the university’s development goals, strategic directions, and the trends of professional development in early childhood education and care, the department has, over the past three decades, evolved into a well-established and professionally distinctive institution, offering both four-year and two-year programs for the cultivation of early childhood education professionals. To equip our students with practical experience in child care, the university has government-commissioned six non-profit kindergartens both on and off campus. Six Non-Profit Preschools Affiliated with Our University are: Hungkuang Employee Children Non-Profit Preschool, Hungkuang Zhongqi Non-Profit Preschool, Hungkuang Pingdeng Non-Profit Preschool, Taichung City Renmei Non-Profit Preschool, Taichung City Longhai Non-Profit Preschool, Yunlin County Qiaotou Non-Profit Preschool. Our university has established the Childcare Industry Development Center, which undertakes the operation of two infant care centers, the Taichung City Fourth District Home-Based Childcare Service Center, and six parent-child centers. Childcare Industry Development Center (Affiliated Units) are: Taichung City Publicly-Owned, Privately-Operated Shalu Infant Care Center, Taichung City Publicly-Owned, Privately-Operated Wuci Sanmin Infant Care Center, Taichung City Fourth District Home-Based Childcare Service Center, Taichung City Shalu Parent-Child Center, Taichung City Dajia Parent-Child Center, Taichung City Shigang Parent-Child Center, Taichung City Heping Parent-Child Center, Taichung City Dongshi Parent-Child Center, Taichung City Qingshui Parent-Child Center. These organizations serve as practical training and experiential learning sites for our students and also offer employment opportunities for our graduates. Over the past three years, our graduate employment rate has reached 95%, indicating a favorable employment situation for our department’s graduates.
